BioBeing brand new to Live Journal, I'm not sure what I'll be writing or contributing yet. I watch a lot of TV, read a lot of books, listen to a lot of music, and do all kinds of art (see my interests for the particulars), so I'll be participating in communities related to those interests. I've never done any fiction writing, but I might try my hand at some fan fic although I fear I'll be awful at it and become the laughing stock of Live Journal. Then again, I could just pretend like it was intended as a humorous send up of bad fan fic. Oh darn, now I've given myself away and you'll know I was trying to be good but was bad. Do I sound paranoid and insecure?
More about me...I spent 20 years as a marketing executive and happily have traded in the stress and high heels for a life of pursuing my passions (again, see interests) and living life as it comes. I've been mostly happily married for 33 years and have two fantastic grown children, a boy and a girl -- although at 29 and 31 I guess I have to call them a young man and woman. Of all the things I've done in my life, being a mom to those amazing human beings is the best.
I'm also the daughter of a holocaust survivor and, without going into more details, that defines a lot of who I am as well.
Finally, my mission in life is twofold -- to enjoy life and to leave the world a better place because I was here. I know that's corny, but so be it.
